Welcome Athletics Alumni

The Valdosta State University Athletic Department appreciates the efforts our student-athletes put forth to help build a successful program. We would like to do our part to recognize and welcome former student-athletes to be a part of our program today in order to build and maintain a relationship with all VSU Athletic Alumni.

Athletics Alumni Events

This past season, Athletic Alumni Relations Coordinator Valerie Haven organized our second Athletic Alumni reunion during the 2009 Blazer football season. It was the "Kick-Off" event, held in conjunction with the Valdosta State football game against Newberry. All Blazer Athletic Alumni were invited to a reunion and reception in the American Legion preceding the football game.

This event also recognized members of the 1994 Blazer Football team as they paved the way for Valdosta Football tradition by being the first VSU Football team to make the NCAA playoffs.

Sport Specific Events

In addition to the large reunions, there have also been several sport specific alumni events. The Blazer baseball and volleyball teams each held alumni games during Homecoming festivities.

We invite you to stay connected with us through events just like these. Please take a moment to fill out our Alumni Information Form so we can update our database and inform you about future VSU Athletic Alumni events. You can also submit the Alumni Information Form if your name or that of a fellow teammate does not appear on the VSU Athletic Alumni list.

In addition, Valdosta State University also offers an online community for alumni: VSU Village. Just as students are urged to become involved in extracurricular activities throughout their university careers, they are also reminded that they are important to VSU in the years after leaving campus.

VSU Teams with Career Athletes

Valdosta State teamed up with a company called Career Athletes in an effort to better prepare out student-athletes for the future. We would like to let the alumni know some of the steps we've taken to give our student-athletes a leg up after college.
